Subject: Re: [Bricolabs] Picnic
Hi all,

i guess its not a question on what picnic, or simmilar events, are. we
are all aware of it after visiting their web pages and from reading more
info on it from good people on this list. my opinion is that this is
even more the reason to hack the money from those guys that have it. it
doesnt mean we are depending on that money, it means that they will
spend it anyhow as they have means on getting it. we have to be ready to
hack into their system and use it to our advantage. thats being
'postmodern' pirat , right?

i dont think boycotting them will make any difference and also think
this should be a matter of individual and case to case occasions and i
welcome discussing it on brico list.

i guess we all got burned while believing that money from government or
soros, or other simmilar will do the difference. now with knowledge we
have we can continue doing what we do, but with an idea how not to do
their agenda.

and after all, maybe it will be nice to have someone at picnic telling
them that they are funny lot - actually this should be bricolab system
that i would like to propose - yes, lets go to all those meetings and
have fun, turn it all around, subvert, hack. i like doing that :)
(im not putting pressure on you Ian, but am sure it wouldn't be pressure
but pleasure to do that there).

and again some self promotion - im at the same time ashamed and proud to
share this with you: last year at icommons summit (not a)part of the
summit was 'free pirat radio'. it proved to be biggest part of free
culture there than, with big outside party for all, with bigo poster
saying 'free culture for sale'. low fi hack yes - but all icommons
people saw it. did we change anything? made a better place in this
world? dont know? felt better at time, so guess we did :)

about collecting money for brico trips - yes great idea, but first
thing i thought of is that some principles, as human and good they seem
at the first observation, are not applicable completely on our society.
as example - i will put my 50 E in, but i wont be working on the corn
field from 5 or 6 oclock in the morning for this money. ill probably
send a letter to ministry of culture saying that we are doing a research
on social dynamics and cross border blablablabla and need money from
them :) is this questionable? (as far as i know ministry of culture CRO
is part of government that is inviting NATO and BUSH to come over to
croatia and develop defensive stations agains klingons and whatnot as
well as biotech labs - I should therefor boycott any connections)

by the way, i was just yesterday amused by machines in SP subways
selling books on politics, philosophy and so on. synchronicity working
great here :)
