Sorry folks, but let it be known that I am most totally against bricolabs
having any truck with Picnic 08, that is, if it wants to keep any sort of
credibility in terms of being a grassroot, bottom-up, and non
institutional, non mainstream community.

Picnic is a happening that represents the epitome of what is called in
French 'la recuperation': the vampiresque sucking out of other peoples'
creativity in order to enable an otherwise clueless and self-appointed
cultural elite to surf the wave of 'cool'.

Despite being substantially supported by public funds (aka taxpayers money)
Picnic still manages to slap an entry ticket price of almost 1000 Euro.
The fact that it then distributes, Italian railways style, freebees to in
its eye desserving destitute precariartists makes it no less, nay, even
more repellent.

Picnic is a typical example of yet another damning Dutch speciality: the
'Eucalyptus' syndrome: It's big and elaborate, it pumps all water around
so nothing grows under it, and it becomes the only show in town, so you
hardly can bypass it. And to add insult to injury it manages to make
believe it is fun too.

Bricolab should resist any association with this type of bogus,
pseudo-cultural undertakings.

Cheers from Firenze, patrizio and Diiiinooos!

PS Picnic 08 is brought to you by the folks that allowed M$'s Vista to be
launched from their premises.
