hi jaromil!
so, now that the list is up, i wont lose the chace to ask help to see
if one day i manage to get freej to compile under gentoo, i have
tried vanilla kernels and have done recommended tweaks by gentoo
gurus and even by kysucix, all is in this thread: http://
forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic-t-461840-highlight-freej.html
but basically the error is that even though it compiles withouth
complaining about not finding v4l,
checking linux/videodev.h usability... no
checking linux/videodev.h presence... yes
configure: WARNING: linux/videodev.h: present but cannot be compiled
configure: WARNING: linux/videodev.h: check for missing
prerequisite headers?
configure: WARNING: linux/videodev.h: see the Autoconf documentation
configure: WARNING: linux/videodev.h: section "Present But Cannot
Be Compiled"
configure: WARNING: linux/videodev.h: proceeding with the
preprocessor's result
configure: WARNING: linux/videodev.h: in the future, the compiler
will take precedence
configure: WARNING: ## ------------------------------------------ ##
configure: WARNING: ## Report this to the AC_PACKAGE_NAME lists. ##
configure: WARNING: ## ------------------------------------------ ##
checking for linux/videodev.h... yes
then when i try to open /dev/video0 i get a:
could not create a video layer error.
anyone out there happily running freej under gentoo?
I have made tests with all kinds of 2.6 kernels as said before.
why do i want to have freej? because is the only easy way to do
streams using theora/ogg video, SVN version is said to allow the -f
option to select the number of framerate for the stream
(ffmpeg2theora doesnt allow this and streams always at 25fps -quite
expensive) and above all freej allows to set text layers over the
video...
tx for any help/clue,
/a
